Privacy and sharing

Before the Timer has no accounts and does not ask who you are. Your answers stay in your browser, and a results link carries them in the link itself. We do not store them.

What "Share this to help other shooters" sends

  • Facts about the gun as it came from the factory: a spec we were missing (like the factory magazine or grip weight), a correction to a factory feature, or the details of a gun we don't list.
  • Never the weight or size of your own modified gun, your modifications, or your results.
  • No name, email, or account. We do not save your IP address.

What happens to it

Shared values appear for everyone right away, marked user-reported, not verified. They only fill in a blank. They never replace a number from the manufacturer. If shooters report different numbers for the same thing, we show none of them until the site owner decides. Results close to a limit then say "needs verification". The owner reviews shared values and can confirm or reject them.

The box is checked by default. Turn it off and nothing is sent. Your check works the same either way.
